Whirlpoop Refrigerator

My whirlpoop refrigerator did not make it 4 years without having an issue. The ive quit making ice. Called the repair guy out and was told one of the two control boards had failed. In order to fix it, they had to replace both boards and I was quoted $1,200 in repairs. I paid $1,999.99 in 9/2109! No way am I paying that much for a repair. I contacted customer service twice asking to see if they could help me. They only offered a one time 15% customer loyalty coupon. Why would I want to buy their product if they don't stand behind there product. Horrible, just horrible. Beware, if you have a problem with your Whirlpool appliance, they aren't willing to help.

bought a Whirlpool Cabrio six days ago...it's not working. Home Depot said they only refund money within 48 hours because Maytag will not let them return it to them past 48 hours old. Said that I must have it repaired. Run as fast as you can from Maytag/Whirlpool and Home Depot.

Bought a wfw85hefwc front load washer in November , and its now middle of January, repair guy has been here 5 times , clothes are still wet after cycle is done , will never ever purchase another whirlpool product , customer service is brutal and rude, unfortunately still have a brand new washer that does not work !!!!!

I have a Whirlpool Reverse Osmosis system. The filter is very good but the tap constantly leaks and floods my kitchen frequently. Customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Simple parts such as washers or tap valve cartridge are not available to purchase. You have to buy the entire tap when your washers wear out. I can understand why they have such low ratings.

Just reading these comments upset me and shows me the quality dishwashers we bought!!! Had 2 whirlpool dishwashers in 3 yrs, both broke during the holidays!!!! The part itself on the second one was $135.00, plastic peace!!!! Dishwasher WDF768sADBo!!!! Whirlpool dishwashers are not a good product, and I'm posting this everywhere I can!!!!! So again I had to buy another new one, but not whirlpool!!!! I'm getting ready to buy new fridge and washer and dryer!!!! I won't even look at a whirlpool !!!!! Taking these dishwashers in and out to try to fix , the parts are expensive when u can just buy a new one!!! I had my last whirlpool 2 yrs!!!! So frustrating!!!! The Cabrio washer is the worse investment I have ever made. My first Whirlpool washer was 38 when it died. That was the reason I purchased another Whirlpool product. I can't tell you how many times I have had to re-wash a garment, sheets or towels.more than once or to spin the laundry because the water had not spun out. I would have been better served by buying an inexpensive agitating washer. If I could afford to buy a different washer now, I would. This washer should be taken off the market.

Hey folks, Just wanted to let you know that my Cabrio washer is a piece of crap. The lid broke last week and the repair man tells me it can't be repaired, instead will have to be replaced. Since the cost of a replacement lid is $400, I will not be replacing the lid, instead, I'll be replacing the entire washer. I am seriously not happy about this. He told me he'd been seeing a lot of this problem with whirlpool washers lately. Is there anything you can do to fix this problem?

I am so disappointed in the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer which I purchased in 2012. I did not even get 4 years service from the machine when I had to replace it. It was so loud , you could hear it on the 2nd floor & my laundry is in the bottom floor. I have replace it & obviously I would not buy another whirlpool. It was surprising that it was so short lived as there are only 2 retire people using it. I went back to the agitator style & I believe my clothes are even whiter. So what is the important factor about saving water because you end up spending the savings on another machine or expensive repairs. Hope in the future that you come out with a better, longer lasting machine..

I purchased my refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2014. Only because they were made in the U.S..Ice maker is slow and other people have the same problem.The dishwasher door just falls down to the floor and this was after 14 months. The repair book tells me I have to tighten the spring which means I have to puul the dishwasher out from its space and this is not easy. The stove you have to cook everything on low or you are going to burn your pans and whatever you are cooking. The stove top that I clean all of the time is starting to look like a stove top that is 6 years old.The microwave so far is ok.

I have a washing machine called the Cabrio. It is the biggest lemon, most poorly designed washer I have ever owned. This year it is 5 years old. As I type this, I hear the ridiculously loud spin cycle. The interior light is out and the hinges rusted out about 2 years ago. I spent over $300 getting them replaced (on me).

It also smells if I don't run bleach through it regularly. I just can't get over how poorly made this machine is. It is even rusting out below the bleach cup.

I just really felt the need to share this. A friend at work is in the market for an efficient top loader. I gave her my long story about this washer and it made me feel very sad, all over again. What a piece of junk.

i have no complaint in the refrigerator of the whirlpool but i suggest something for the the features in the new designs of the refrigerator. they have to made some new designs all are using the old one. the space wastage in the refrigerator is very high. they have to improve the feature in the refirgerator.

Not happy at all with this company. Bought a microwave 2 years ago and it nearly caught on fire during its last use. Sparked and started smoking. Glad I was standing near it when it happened! Since it was 1 year post warranty they wouldn't give me a refund. Really? So, basically I would have had to suffer a burn or have my house catch on fire for any type of compensation? Whatever. It cost $148..and the most they would do was give me 25% off the purchase of another one. Sorry but that equals the cost I will incur to properly dispose of this piece of junk.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer from my local Lowe's. The machine use averages two loads a week with one of them delicates. I have had the machine less than 5 years my previous Whirlpool Washer I had over twenty years with a family children in school and contractor husband so the washer was used on a daily basis. The new washer now appears to have problem with the motor machine smokes every time you try to use. The repair men say that the machine is terrible and all the people I talk to locally say that you can't anyone willing to work on the machine. I am very displeased with this washer especially due to the price. You pay seven hundred dollars for something expecting a top of the line product and get one that you can't use. Whirlpool has truly lost it reputation for a high quality product.

Begin my search for resolution of my Maytag Upright Freezer with Whirlpool in July of 2014. At that time my NEW freezer was only 7mths old. I came home from vacation to a bloody mess, i lost everything in freezer(by the way warranties don't cover loss of food which is hundreds of dollars these days). First appliance company scheduled to look at was a no-show. Waited weeks for another company to show, they recommended replacement which whirlpool rejected saying it could be fixed. They sent out another company and after weeks of waiting for what they told us was parts come to find out they didn't have anyone that could fix what needs to be fixed. As of today we are on the third company (the first one that was a no-show) that is suppose to come and look at our freezer. Come on really. I did email customer service sometime ago and received a generic reply saying we need to fix. Were talking $500, I bought new expecting that it would last longer than it did(imagine that). I believe the product is defective and that whirlpool should replace. Please take a look at my file, the phone log has got to be ridiculously long! Pull up your shorts and do the right thing and replace this piece of junk seriously.

Screw Whirlpool. They have short warranties and their equipment breaks after warranties expire. First it was the washing machine, which broke after 3 years of use; I had to pay a lot of money to fix the computer in there. Now, it's the fridge, and it's only been little over a year and it broke! Aren't Fridges supposed to last? Do they purposely make faulty equipment that fails after warranty expires? Anyway, all my food is going bad, and it's going to take about 4 more days for the computer to get here. Once again, SCREW Whirlpool, never buy from them.

A Whirlpool Quiet Partner 11 was in my new home, newly installed three and a half years ago. I didn't use it for two months and when I turned it on it only ran a few minutes then turned off. I tried several more times and it did the same thing.
What a nightmare to try to find an answer or find a repairman. It took forever to find the Whirlpool customer service sight and when I did it was $38.00 to ask a question. The only repair sight is Sears. No wonder we get disillusioned with new products. My last dishwasher is 36 years old, never a repair, and is still working in my previous home.

I have purchased a cabrio top loading washer just about two years ago. Now all the sudden we are having problems with the rinse and spin cycle. It will not finish the cycle out leaving my clothes soaking in water. So we had to hand wring them out and hang dry until it was safe enough to put the clothes into my dryer. I called the company only to get the run a round for over a month, then when they did finally come out to look at it, the part that needed to be replaced was a unique and on demand part that was not carried in large supply. So I was told it would take another month to recieve the part, and then they would come back out to replace the old acuator I think it is called. So the part arrived and they put it in, within two weeks, it happened again. Now I am struggling to do my laundry at the laundromat until the run a round that I am getting again is finally over with! I cannot believe this crap! If this part breaks again I am going to call that Al Vauhtters on channel news 4 the call 4 action hotline and report it so no one else goes through this same thing!

Cabrio washer is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever used. Clothes come out still soiled and with a very unpleasant odor. I clean the washer frequently with tide washer cleaner. Wish I had my 15 year old GE back!!

I purchased a whirlpool gold fridge in 2010 and after a month it started freezing up in the bottom freezer bed and on defrost mode it will leak all over your floors we gave just a little over $2000. dollars for this unit. If am going to spend that kind of money on something I expect it to have no issues for a good while, Do they even consider that it's damaging the home owners floors and they can be reliable for that. I asked if this unit had a recall and they responded by saying no. With this being said and what the service man told me over the phone I will never consider buying another whirlpool product, and just for them being built over sea's Is enough warning in its self, makes me think how smart was I to buy from them anyway, Buy USA products people.

Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher

Did you know that Whirlpool only guarantees against rust for 30 days? Our dishwasher(18 months old)door is rusted above the steam vent - an obvious design flaw, but Whirlpool will not replace it. I am very disappointed that I spent money for a trusted name, only to find out they can't be trusted.

I have a Cabrio washer and dryer and have had problems with both. The dryer will not heat properly after replacing the heating element, high limit thermostat, and the thermal cutoff, none of this has helped. Air flow is good through the ducting and the dryer has been vaccumed out and is clean throughout.

The washer has a bearing going out on the tub. This seems to be a problem with many of the washers I have seen comments about.
My washer is less than three years old and this is not normal for a bearing to fail this quickly., Whirlpool has a definite recall issure with the bearing problem. I was a mechanic for 23 years and bearings do not fail this quickly unless they are a very poor quality.

Just changed my Hotpoint washing machine for a whirlpool AWD 5206.It takes approx 50% longer and my electricty bills have drastically incresed, I assume this is because the Hotpoint took in hot water where the Whirlpool operates from cold water.Beware!!.

My dishwasher is 3 months old..paid 618 dollars for it ..and is worth about 200..actually 0 now that it wont pump the water out..But im looking at these boards ..i just bought a new truck too..it is plastic..everywhere...The EPA is involved in everything ..they are focing companies to go sustainable which is a word that means ROT...It must deteriorate at a sustainable rate...If you dont think this is true..BUY anything that is sustainable and you will see it rot within a the year...the wheels on my truck LOOK chrome but are plastic with fake chrome..EPA forced this..so Im wondering what they have FORCED the other manufacturers to change...People..our industry is being destroyed by Insane people but we complain about the product..I dont think its there fault ..I think its the INSANITY of regulation..allow people to build a better product with freedom ..NOT FORCE them to create a so called sustainable crap product ..THAt is what is wrong..Id move my company out of America to..when are people going to WAKE up...

Dissappointed SA customer. I had my first Whirlpool toploader 10 years and decided its time for a new one. Again I bought the Whirlpool toploader and at first I was dissappointed that he drum capasity was not the same than the old one and the cycles of the new one is not that nice, but I though to myself: Its a Whirlpool, your old one were 10 Years old and still running, so this one will give you the same value. Dissappointed to say, just out of guarantee and its giving me trouble. I bought my machine 18/4/2011 and today is 02/05/2013. It seems that the quality is not the same than the old ones.

I am involved with redevelopment of neighborhoods for a Housing Authority funed in part by US Tax Payers.
My latest project was 118 units of low income housing where we installed 118 new Whirlpool HE Front Load Washers from July 2011 to May 2012. To date we have experienced about 40 door boot failures, 34% failure rate, give me a break!
The A&E techs used to fix them, now they claim it is caused by or tenants overloading the machine causing the rubber door boot to tear and then tear clothing when the clothing gets caught by the gap in the door boot after tearing. They will no longer fix the problem even though they are still under warranty! The owner's manual on troubleshooting does not show possible overloading to cause any detrimental effect to the washer or clothing. If the washer is overloaded it most likely won't run at all from the start, at least the owner's manual states that to be a cause for not running. I have received nothing but a run around from Whirlpool, even though I was promised to be contacted by someone that could do something to resolve my concerns! Never again will I recommend using Whirlpool appliances on another project that includes your tax dollars.

My top-loading washer has been in service since 11/2011 and is already dysfunctional; not draining, spinning, etc. I want my old Kenmore back. I have not tried contacting Whirlpool as I doubt they would be of much help. I purchased it through Lowes. I refuse to pay to have someone look at it...less than two years of limited use and it's already on the "fritz". American engineering at its best.

I purchased my home in 2011 in 2012 my whirlpool microwave began to make a buzzing sound and spark when attempting to heat anything. Since it was within a year of buying the home we were able to get the microwave serviced for free. Now the microwave is making the buzzing sound and not heating food properly again. But the warranty did not reset with the last time we got the microwave serviced so now whirlpool is asking us to pay $150 dollars, not including parts to have the microwave service. I feel that since it hasn't yet been a year since the microwave was last serviced the warranty should still be applied. This isn't some new technology, microwaves shouldn't break down every year. It is not worth the money to keep having to repair a microwave that is clearly defective.

Short cuts when frig was made

I purchased a Whirlpool frig on Sept 2012. Very unhappy with it. When put on recommend setting it is not cold enough if I set it up one notch it is to cold in frig. I had a can of pop freeze and explode in the frig. The vents a clear.

I am very dissatisfied with whirlpool products. We had a whirlpool washer and dryer. Had the repairman here numerous times, so we ended up replacing the washer and today the dryer burned up. It was a whirlpool duet front loader. Probably only 4 or 5 years old. I tell everybody never buy these appliances. Spent a lot of money on junk.

I bought a whirpool ceramic space heater that was twice the price of some similiar models. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio around a year ago..First the service man told me people complained of the machine not getting clothes clean ! That is because they did not wash the clothes by the book and would open the machine several times adding clothes....I went by the book never opened the machine !!! This machine is horrible..You never know how many times you will have to wash the clothes to get them clean.The regular cycle will not let you change the spin cycle so everything has a million wrinkles and you just rinse and spin another 30 minutes....I am a senior citizen and have purchased many machines all worked very well..I will go back to my old center dasher machines....There is nothing in todays clothes that need to wash for an hour !!! and still not clean ......

I too am extremely disgruntled with this company! I purchased a new washer from Lowes' in Jan. 2011 and a year later the auto load sensor went out (just out of warranty) now 9 months later has gone out again. I don't think it is worked hard (just my wife and I) so it should not be having this problem. Whirlpool used to be a rock solid company, but now that has gone the same way as many American jobs. I don't think it is just coincidence that the failing part is made in China....go figure.

Terrible customer service

I purchased a new $400,000 motorhome that came with a Whirlpool microwave. The microwave runs by itself, won't work in convection mode and the range lights are inoperative. I live 85 miles from the dealer at which the microwave is located. I have to be there when the microwave is worked on according to Whirlpool. I have been there twice and the unit is not fixed yet. Whirlpool will not replace it even though it is under warranty. It has to be deemed unrepairable. Since everything is repairable given throwing enough parts at it, it might take months to fix it. I will never buy another product with a Whirlpool appliance in it.

Over the last few years I have bought a Whirlpool washer and two 9.5 cubic foot refrigerators. Recently the plastic 'crisper' drawer cracked along the right side all the way to the bottom. I called for a replacement and told the best offer was $72.68! An outrage for a plastic drawer. That is almost 1/4 the cost of the fridge! That's why it broke in the first place - it's plastic! It is unlikely I will buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

Purchased a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator and it was delivered on New Years Day, 2011. Five days later and enternal water line broke and flooded our kitchen causing extensive flooring damage. Whirlpool picked up the tab to the tune of $3500. Good job on Whirlpools part. 3 months later the icemaker stopped working, tech came and ordered part, waited 3 weeks for part. Six months later, icemaker is out again. Same part failure. Four months later the whole unit is dead, lost half the food in the freezer. Have just finished packing food into coolers. Very disappointed in Whirlpool quality and will not buy this product line in the future.

I wish I had found this board before purchasing a Whirlpool product. The refridgerator I bought makes a loud knocking sound every time it stops and starts. It is loud. I can hear it all over my 2400 square foot house.
I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent out a repariman who said "all refridgerators make that sound". This is complete BS. The display model I looked at was totally quite with respect to the knocking sound.
Whirlpool service said that my product had no functional defect and that they would do nothing further to fix it.
I is obvious that Whirlpool makes low quality products and does not stand behind them. Just look at the results on this forum. This fridge is the last piece of Whirlpool crap that I will ever buy.

I have a whirpool dryer. It was installed properly . Take two hours to dry a load of clothes , and no I am not overloading it and never have. I hate your product and will never recommend this to anyone. Shame on you for taking hard working peoples money for such a poor product. I have a very demanding job and do not have time to wait 2 and 3 hours for this dryer to dry a single load of towels. Your washer is just as bad does not wring clothes out either as this may be part of the dryer problem. They where both bought at the same time. Get me one shame on you , get me twice NEVER.

I have purchased 2 whirlpool duets in 3 yrs. one of them was only used for 6 months with the door seal falling out and the wire holding the the seal. the door is warped. I have always been a whirlpool fan but I would encourage others to think before purchasing them again.

I am not satisfied with my whirlpool convection which gets repaired every 2-3 months and the reason that they give is that it is quite an unsuccessfull model and that its touch is very sensitive.I want a replacement for my microwave as i cant keep complaining and get it repaired.

Purchased stove/dishwasher/microwave/refrigerator in "package" deal. Our contractor was delayed and products stayed for extended period of time at Lowe's warehouse [Lowe's is SUPER]. Dishwasher does not dry properly, makes a lot of noise. Stove finish is coming off and Whirlpool states they can do nothing. Refrigerator temperature fluctuates,and food in top freezes and those in vegetable drawer tend to spoil rather quickly. Wonder of wonders, the microwave works fine.

We purchased a Whirpool washing machine and I have been putting off making a comment. Everytime I use this machine I am very frustrated!!!!! It is a high efficiency washer which I thought would be a good thing to buy. I was very wrong!!! Many times I have to wash items 2 -3 times much to no avail not making any difference. They still remain dirty or with stains that normally should come out!!! VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!! I am stuck with what appears to be a very nice washing machine but basically STINKS.

I bought a hot and cold water dispenser in April of this year, which had a two yr warranty with it.I paid $160.00 for it. It quit working last week, so I contacted customer service, and was told that I needed to ship it to them in Calif., for them to replace it. Problem is, I live in a rural town in central N.Y. It would cost me almost as much as I paid for it, to ship it there. I explained that to the suppervisor, only to be told that, that was their policy and they're sorry about that. How nice. We also had a washer that didn't last too. I will never buy another whirlpool product, and advise everyone the same. I am filing a complaint with the B.B.B. also. I feel their warranties are misleading to the consumer. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, it WILL NOT happen again.

whirlpool hot water heater has very poor design. you can't light it with a match, (it has a manual sparker), and the sparker fails to light it. If you thought the old regulator concept of holding the button down until the pilot stayed lit, then get ready for Hell.

For all those who wish or looking at purchasing a whirlpool appliance especially a built in oven. If the control panel goes out you can expect to get it repaired in 6 to 8 weeks as the part comes from Asia. Apparently it must be transported by yak over mountains to a slow boat to west coast usa and by there it has to hitch a ride by either snail or turtle over mountains in order to reach louisville, Ky or whatever destination it needs to go to the repair person. So if you want quick repairs don't purchase whirlpool.

Worst appliance ever! I've never had shelves break in a refrigerator in my 40 years of marriage. I bought a whirlpool refrigerator 2 years ago. This is the second replacement. I don't have a lot of groceries - just my husband and I. I can't imagine how fast they'd break with a family. Chairman Mao is rolling over in his grave for the crappy work his children are turning out.

Whirlpool needs to change its name to Cesspool. That's where all this crap belongs. Maybe they can outsource a garbage dump in China to dump their merchandise.

It is just about a year since I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It was a major purchase for me, and something I had saved for years for. This machine replaced a 21 year old sears washer that was still running but was smaller and had been used so often the barrel was rusting.

I cannot tell you how unhappy I am with this washer. My black pants consistently come out with white marks. The fabric softener compartment never completely empties. My water savings are eaten up by the additional electricity costs because my old washer was a 30 minute cycle and this machine is anywhere between 46 for a lightly soiled load to 84 minutes for a normal load with fabric softener and an extra rinse. You DO need the extra rinse. Did I mention the clothes do not come out of the machine much cleaner than they went in? There is also a problem with tangling.

I truly do not have any positive comments other than it does hold a Queen size comforter. With the price tag of over $800.00 I think I could have footed the dry cleaning bills and bought a machine that got my clothes clean.

To clarify, I do use the proper detergent at the recommended level, use Refresh as directed, and never over load the machine to the same result.

Dishwasher is now 18 months old. The control panel is shot. The cost to fix is $550 on a machine that cost $990. Further more,in July, a refrigerator had a control panel issue. It took 15 days to get the part. 15 days without a refrigerator in a family of 7. Repair cost $657.
Will never buy Kithchen Aid/Whirlpool again!

Now I'm getting woried.

Bought a new Energey Star Whirlpool washer in March. Nothing but trouble with it. After four calls from service tech it was finally replaced in May with new washer of same model. New washer has been working just fine. Now, after reading some of the reviews,I'm wondering how long this unit will last. Wish me luck.

I own unfortunately a Whirlpool washing machine Model AW 8121. After exactly three years this is what I have:
Rust in the drawer compartment
rust at bottom corner with metal coming off
Water leaking as machine fills up from the drawer!!
Absolute crap!!!!!!!!!3rd world manufacture and design.
The dryer is not much better as it leaves the clothes damp even though the 6th sense is supposed to dry it according to the setting.

So Far So Good

Well we just purchased a new Whirlpool Roper Washer and so far it has been excellent. Once we bought the washer it was easy to figure out and washes clothes like a charm. I do a lot of hiking and mountain biking, sometimes my clothes get pretty muddy, but this washer takes care of that no sweat. So far my overall impression of Whirlpool has been a positive one, and I hope it continues to be that way for years to come!

The drum of my Whirlpool Duet dryer has a HOLE IN IT...they said they couldn't do anything about it because it was past warranty. I understand parts wear out, but a HOLE IN THE DRUM!!!! This dryer is only 3 years old!

WHIRPOOL APPLIANCES SUCK. My side by side refrigerator is acting up after 1 and a half year. The temperature is not cold enough and my foods are getting spoiled. Called the customer care, the lady said she couldn't troubleshoot it and I have to pay someone to get out to look at it. I had a regular refrigerator that lasts more than 5 years without any problems. BAD PRODUCTS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY BUYING WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES.

We purchased a Whirlpool top load washer three years ago. Imagine my frustration when an F1 error code appeared and I was told that the entire computer board needed to be replaced. Since I had an entire load of wet clothes in the machine, I called our local appliance service who immediately fixed the board so that I could resume washing. I didn't expect Whirlpool to pay for the service call or the labor, but I did at least expect them to pay for the part. Since they wouldn't even pay for the part, they are obviously another shoddy appliance company who don't stand behind their products.

Please do not trash can this message.I was recently told your company was bringing the manufacturing of your products back to the USA. I surely hope this is true. What I would like to see is this. The quality you once had in your products, refrigerators, stoves washing machines, as well as Kenmore products. (restored) They were so reliable & efficient until there was no need for extended warranties, sorry to say the whirlpool washer we presently own is less than a yr. old, and when it was about 5 months old the plastic discharge pump went out when they were metal they lasted a long time, same applies for the other appliances. I don't mind paying for a quality product (paying more) but at the present we are paying the price for quality, that is not present. Pass this on to someone that knows I am telling the truth.
