2003 Chevy Impala problems

We had a string of bad luck with our 2003 Impala starting in fall 2011. The multi-function switch (turn signal/high beams/wipers/cruise) went bad. The lights would go off when trying to switch to high beams and the turn signals would work erratically. $700 later and we had a new one installed, which still gave the same problems. One more try and they got it fixed. Then in the spring of 2012 the body control module went bad. The door lock relay was clicking and the head lights and parking lights were flickering. The only way around this was to pull the fuse for the module. Another $700 and that was fixed. About a month later the catalytic converter clogged and we had to replace that for another $300. Now we're so far into it that it doesn't make sense to get rid of it. It's been a pretty good car other than those problems.
