HP CP1215 Laser Printer Review

The HP CP1215 Color Laser printer is perfect for the student who needs to print crisp, clean color documents for school, or for the small business person who prints their own stationary. As with all color printers, the CP1215 comes with four toner cartridges (black, magenta, cyan, and yellow). They are very easy to install, and comes with simple to follow instructions. Once you install the cartridges, load some paper, and power on the printer, it will prime the cartridges and be ready to print in under two minutes. Run the driver CD to install the software, and connect the USB cable when prompted, and you're off and running. This printer is supported by all Windows operating systems starting with 2000. As of this writing, it is also supported by both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 8. If you use the Linux operating system, there is a driver for this printer for it too.
Some of my issues I had about this printer included but not limited to the paper tray. It can't hold an entire ream of paper (1/4 of a ream is the maximum). Another issue was the printing speed. It prints 12 pages per minute black and 8 pages per minute color. Despite the limitations, it did a fantastic job of greeting cards, business cards, and stationary.
One thing to keep in mind is the cost of the toner cartridges. When I bought the printer, I paid around $320 for it, and it came with four toner cartridges. I had planned to purchase spare toner cartridges, but decided to wait. At roughly $70+ per cartridge, replacing them can get expensive. I've found however that with the large amount of printing I had to do, it was a year before I needed to replace them. Personally for me, it was worth it.
