Losing faith in HP printers

I have purchased HP printers for the last ten years, and each new printer lasts shorter time or increases in cost to support its use. My current printer is a B210 e-all-in-one and uses HP564 ink cartridges. In my experience this printer consumes ink like an alcoholic consumes liquor. The number of pages advertised for the standard and XL ink cartridges barely achieve the 50% mark. When the ink level gets low, it seems I am endlessly cleaning the printheads, many times requiring second level clean. Maybe the printer works great for consumer reports the first few months of their study, but over the long haul of 1-2 years is unacceptable in my opinion. My printer is connected via wireless NetGear router, and my kids have laptops that should be able to print to this printer. For some reason, the HP print spooler jams (instead of the printer) and you need to down load the HP utility to unjam your spooler. A friend works for HP and tells me they cut everyones pay 25% a couple years ago. I know of the three key project management tradeoffs (i.e. quality, schedule, cost), it is clear that HP business is going the path of Coleco and the old Adam computer. Quality printers from HP seems to be a long foregone business goal. I have moved on to see what is available from other printer manufacturers.
