Awesome zoom
This camera is by far the best digital camera I have owned so far. The 10x zoom is awesome. The only thing I would prefer to be different is the flash that pops up right where my left hands is holding the camera. Every thing else about this camera is awesome. Glad I decided to purchase it.

I sent in my CoolPix S8100 due to a dial mode malfunction after taking it off the charger. The first estimate I received said it was covered under warranty, and in shop for repairs. Then I received a re-estimate via email saying it would cost $140 due to impact damage (it has a scratch on one of the corners) and the camera only cost $260. I then filed a claim and they responded with a sorry....due to impact damage the LCD is broken...the LCD doesn't even have a scratch on it! It's the dial selector on the top that shorted out. I have only had the camera for 6 months and they refuse to fix it under warranty. Very sad that they take this approach towards their customers.
I have now posted 2 follow up comments with no reply. I wish I found this site before ever purchasing a Nikon camera.
Bummed :(
