Good camera, but having a problem

I've enjoyed my SP550UZ for a couple years. A few days ago something happened that caused the viewer to just look black. The display informaiton is still there, but it's like the camera can't see through the viewer. I can still view photos taken earlier. If I take a picture and open it, it is just black.
