I have spent more time with Sony with various modalities of communication that I am going nuts. They don't make it easy to communicate with Customer Support via e-mail. I have an E499217xx number and have received an offer for a replacment set for my KDL 52X BR4 which has a defective screen. Their option is to replace it with a smaller unit, a KDL 46, Plus additional monies, The set offered is a great set, but it's way tooo small for my cabinet which was built for the 52X. I have called Sony CR for any other options, and they said no, even if I pony up more money. This doesn't make sense. Guess it's time to try a Samsung!
On February 25, 2011 my Sony Bravia quit working(no power). On Saturday, February 26 I called Sony customer(out-sorced) service. They sent a technician out from a somewhat local company on Tuesday, March 1. So far, I was almost impressed with the response from Sony. The tech came out and examined my TV to determine what I had already told customer service and that parts would have to be ordered. I'm a patient man, but it's now March 27 and my parts are still on back order. My TV is only 5 months old and under factory warranty. I've been in contact with Sony every week and I'm getting nowhere. They can't even tell me where the parts are, or when I may expect them.
