Headphones can't on / work .

I have my headphones for nearly a year or two and it seems to work perfectly fine until today ( 8 August 2013 ) . It can't seem to work , when I mean work I mean the light that is suppose to turn colours when you on or off the headset , exactly , mine don't seem to be on . I don't have the light on the white box thing that shows your brand being lit . And I can't seem to talk on the headphone ever since . PLEASE HELP ME !!!
