Total waste of money

We decided to buy this machine because it was the least expensive LARGE capacity washer. Even so, it was almost $700. We had some problems in the past with Whirlpool but the appliance was fairly old (over 10yrs). Luckily we bought Lowe's extended warranty because this thing started to breakdown less than a year after the 1yr manufacturers warranty expired. We've had 2 major repairs within 1 year AND one of the problem parts, the control panel, was changed TWICE! I tried to get something out of Whirlpool because a washer should last WELL beyond 2.5 years before it starts failing. They sent me form letters and "concerns" and "regrets" but ultimately washed their hands of us. One of the letters actually tried to fault us because of our water or something like that. Ridiculous! If water was an issue, the salesperson should have said something, I told them. Of course any salesperson would NEVER talk about your water or you'd just buy another unit. I saw a question from someone on this site complaining about water spitting out the front of the machine. We had that too. It was caused by some pump gone mad (the tech told us). Seriously? Stay away! It's a terrible machine and, even worse, stay away from Whirlpool they won't help IN ANY WAY after the warranty is up. So, if you HAVE TO get a Whirlpool washer MAKE SURE you get the extended warranty. We've paid for ours twice over and the machine is less than 3 years old.
