Cancelled by Amazon
I have been posting book reviews on Amazon for many years, always buying the books at the site to get the cachet of "Verified purchase". My efforts resulted in more than thirty reviews appearing on Amazon, many rated as either "Top Positive Review" or "Top Critical Review". But when I submitted a review of "The Last Politician" by Franklin Foer, I got a terse email from Amazon that it could not be posted "because it doesn't meet our guidelines for one or more of these reasons: Profanity, Harassment, Hate Speech, Sexual Content, Illegal Activity, Private Information". This had never happened before, and I was quite surprised. I went to the link that showed the "Community Guidelines" and read all six pages, scratching my head, trying to figure what I'd done wrong and then I realized the issue was politics. The person checking my review was apparently an extreme liberal so I made some changes that I thought might let my piece "pass" and I resubmitted it. But I soon realized this was a waste of time because I could make changes piecemeal again and again, but without knowing exactly what in my 850 word review was the "problem", my efforts would be fruitless.How could I get the nameless and faceless Amazon person behind the "wizard's curtain" to tell me what to do? I remembered seeing on my "Author's Page" a place where I could recommend books. I'd never used this feature before but now got the idea to cite Franklin Foer's book as a "Recommendation", writing in the comments, "I wrote a review of this book that did not pass the Amazon Moderator and I hope they will tell me what to change." This was an act of desperation because I truly wanted to get my review posted and I was willing to make rewrites but had to have some guidance, sort of like we got from our high school English teacher who would take a red pencil and underline the problem.
Apparently, my ploy with Amazon backfired because I soon got an email saying my post was "outside of our guidelines" and "consider this to be a first warning." Amazon's ire was about the book recommendation I'd put on my author's page (specifically the comments showing Amazon in a bad light) since this was the only "post" I'd ever made other than book reviews.
This was going nowhere, and I was not going to play Amazon's games. I replied to the email, saying, "if you cannot tell me what I am doing wrong I will cancel my book advertising, Amazon Prime, and the Amazon prime credit card and quit making purchases from Amazon." Six days later I got a reply email saying, "You have repeatedly posted content that violates our Community Guidelines . . . [and therefore] we've removed your ability to participate in Community features." This was untrue because I'd only made one post, the one where I said, "I hope they [Amazon Moderator] will tell me what to change [in the review that had been rejected]."
Unfortunately, all the book reviews I'd posted on Amazon over the years were deleted. This was quite disappointing because I'd spent hundreds of dollars on dozens of books, reading them closely over countless hours in order to write honest and informed book reviews and now my work had come to naught. I truly doubt that anyone has put more effort(both in the reading and the writing) into creating a book review than I have. Amazon's actions have not only hurt me but are a disservice to millions of readers who rely on quality reviews to make wise decisions in their book purchases.
As I said earlier, I've submitted critical assessments of other books to Amazon and never had a problem and I must conclude the current issue is over politics, simply having a different opinion. While I did say some positives about the author, I also faulted him for being almost sycophantic toward Biden. What he wrote was an uncritical fluff piece and I called it as such.
The review, as written, would be passable to any reasonable person and there is nothing out of bounds in it. I read the book thoroughly and wrote an honest, critical review with no malice or evil intent. Amazon.com is one of the largest and most trusted online shopping site I ever used. It have a lot of products to choose from and the quality of the products are also good. The support staff is also very helpful and polite. they help you in case you want any assistance from them. Definitely a good choice to buy from amazon.

My Experience with Amazon
Well, Amazon is a very fantastic website that I can recommend to anybody who is ready to buy any product, so far so good i have been enjoying their service but, Amazon is a company that does not really have serious customer service, i had an issue with their customer service when I bought my second product so, I contacted them to fix the issue the agent was rather telling me about refunding my money, that area needs to be improved upon, I was addressing issues, she is talking about refunding. Also their delivery system is really a cracker, I got my product 10days after the said date, but the product was really nice, I still enjoy it till now, they sell good products

I tried twice within the last two or three months to buy a 10" Amazon Fire Tablet for $99.00 (on sale). I was offered their five payment installment plan as a method of payment. The first time I tried to purchase the Fire Tablet (in June or July), Amazon approved me for installment payments. A few days before my tablet would be shipped, Amazon placed five holds on my checking account for approximately $26.00 each. I was told by the customer service representative that they couldn't do anything and that I had to contact my bank. My bank said it was Amazons Fault. I thought that it was a computer glitch. I called Amazon customer service again and was offered the option of canceling my order and getting a refund. I canceled my order. On August 17, 2020, I noticed that Amazon.com was again selling their 10" Fire Tablet for $99.99. They were also selling the 4K Fire Stick for $34,00. I bought both on a five payment installment plan. The Fire Stick was delivered a few days later. The delivery date for the tablet was August 30-31. On the 26th I received an email from Amazon stating that my debit card was "Declined" and that I needed to update my payment method. Granted, I had purchased other items after the 17th with no problem. I checked my account and discovered that I had two pending transactions of $26.35 from Amazon. I contacted customer service who talked about authorizations and how it wasn't an actual charge (i.e. it's your bank's fault). I called my bank and was told that Amazon, to ensure that they get their payments, put three "holds"($79.05) on my account. The third hold was declined due to insufficient funds I was told one hold would expire and the other would be charged to my bank account. Yesterday, I received yet another email form amazon. I spoke to customer service and was transferred to a person who reset the purchase, I received a new delivery date. Today, I received another email from Amazon stating they'd declined my card. I checked my account; they'd placed another three holds with one denied by my bank. I called customer service, was put on hold after briefly speaking to the representative, and then told that there was something wrong with my debit card, The card that I have owned/used for over a year to make purchases and pay bills. I was told by the Amazon representative that I should simply buy the tablet using another form of payment. I told her to cancel the order. I asked her for a contact number or an email address that I could use to file a complaint. She said she wasn't able to give out such information and that she could take my complaint I declined her offer, stated that I would find the information on my own and hung up. I have been a Prime member for years. I have spent what amounts to thousands of dollars on Amazon products ( ebooks, channels & subscriptions). I was treated like a criminal not a loyal customer. I was treated like my debit card was unreliable and untrustworthy. Seriously considering returning the 4k Fire Stick.

Great online shopping site!!!
Amazon is great...wonderful selection and great prices. But, the only problem is the Prime delivery. I hope it gets better this year. Last year, I had lots and lots of orders, and at least 60% of those did not arrive on their due date. Sometimes it was even 2-3 days later. Otherwise, they are fantastic!They meet up with every of your needs... They won't let you down..

Good experience!
I have ordered many items from Amazon on multiple occasions. I have generally had good luck. Though one time I ordered an item and it was coming from China. I never recieved the order though it was a problem with the shipping. Amazon refunded me the money and they were easy to communicate with.

Occasional snags, but overall worth it
Amazon provides some protection from orders that are lost, and they have everything from toys and stickers to fridges (no joke, i shopped for fridges for fun on there). the amazon Prime feature is really awesome especially the fact that they have special deals for students on it. lots of items have free shipping or free on orders over $35queenofsleep.... I bought a Seiko watch that died 9 days after I bought it. The listing stated 2 year warranty provided by Asurion. They sent an email noting the order number and confirming that I had a 2 year warranty provided by Asurion. When I went to make the claim to have the 9 day old watch repaired, they told me I had no warranty with Asurion.
I wonder how many thousands of people get defrauded by their warranty refusals....

Great website for buying items!
Unlike ebay anything you buy on amazon is an instant purchase. There are no auctions just buy it now. They have almost anything you can think of! Items are shipped fast and haven't ever had a shipping problem. Over amazon is def a place you should check out for fast shipping and quick buys.

Trust Amazon mostly
I love Amazon for the reason that you can find almost anything on there to buy and almost everything cost less than another website. However if you are buying an expensive product make sure you are either buying with Amazon or a seller that has a high rating with many customers. One time I bought a book on Amazon for $8 and the seller had a high rating but only 1 customer ever. I never got the book and amazon never returned my $8 even after I filed a claim because they had no way of forcing the seller to return my money. Thank goodness it was only $8 because I would have probably never used amazon again if I lost more money. So when it comes to Amazon you can trust buying straight from Amazon.com but please be cautious when buying from other sellers. The pros of Amazon would be it is user friendly, saves you money and time, and for the most part they ship you your item before the expected delivery date. Amazon.com is my favorite online place to make purchases! They have great deals on stuff that costs a LOT of money in actual stores. Amazon's service

Great Company!
I find myself buying more and more products from Amazon. I've bought books from them for years, but recently I've bought a water filter for my refrigerator, Diatomaceous Earth, a tiller, and boat parts. The customer reviews are helpful. You can't beat Amazon for its outstanding customer service and low prices. You might be able to find a lower price for a particular item, but you can turn to Amazon for a good price and confidence in the company. Return policies are easy and generous, and depending on your reason for return, the company may even pay for return shipping. I started using Amazon after I found out about their mechanical turk work program. I used the money I earned from the turk work to buy some things I had been wanting from Amazon. When I bought the first item I thought it would be weeks before the item came, but within 3 days there it was.

Wow, Amazon Customer Service is exceptional. We had an item with a return window that expired Jan 31st. On 3/27, we explained that we were not able to return the item within the specified window because of travel (among other things). The Amazon customer service rep who was on instant messaging granted my request for an extended return window and they're allowing us to return it now. Thanks Amazon!
