Been trying to find a vehicle for a month
I've come across some decent deals used Craigslist every time to buy a vehicle but this time every time I see a vehicle that I like each of them has the same story saying their son died or their brother died or husband and they're all from Jackson Missouri beware of them saying using eBay or Amazon to hold the money in the ship the vehicle to you it's the biggest scam going on I've been trying to reach Craigslist to have them kicked off

SERVICE AD FLAGGED FOR NO REASON
There is no customer service whatsoever from Craig's List. E-mails bounce back to sender (me) between "Help" (should be retitled "No Help" and "Abuse."

Horrible, Just Horrible
I have had an account with them for years, suddenly I can't post anymore, emails stop going to me email address,.... worthless, absolutely worthless. What a shame, it could be soooo amazing but it absolutely sucks because they have no customer service and people can flag other people's items even if it's not something to be flagged. It's like Craigslist just keeps getting worse and worse and worse and worse and worse every week. If CL actually cared, they would make sure emails work to yahoo mail for goodness sakes. Sick n tired!!!!

Stay away from Craigslist!
Craigslist, in a nutshell, sucks! Stay away from this site unless you want to be scammed or murdered. Legitimate ads are flagged into oblivion by lunies and bot programs. Scammers and wackos comprise 90% of responses to ads that somehow miraculously stay on for more than 60 seconds.

Could be better, but has its upsides.

Why I don't like Craigslist
Well, actually would take too long to post all the reasons I don't like Craigslist so I will limit my review to my own personal experience with Craigslist.I do believe in following the terms of sites! And while it might be hard for me to understand them all I do try to. But my biggest complaint with Craigslist is they let anyone and everyone flag posts that are clearly NOT in violation of the Craigslist terms and just for whatever reason someone does not like the ad.
To give a great summary of what I'm writing about someone else put it like this. It's like a group of people going in the grocery store and just because they don't like chocolate ice cream they get chocolate ice cream taken off the shelves.
I have had people drive as far as 100 miles to buy what I sell so I have good stuff so all some people are doing by flagging posts they don't like is keeping others from buying something they would like.
Their flagging forum is mostly very rude as they state opinions as to why posts are removed when there is no violation of the terms. I don't mind them helping me write a better ad but I do mind being flagged when my ads are NOT in violation of their terms.
And I do NOT buy into that all ads have to be flagged by readers for them to be removed because I have had ads deleted the second I renewed it (I never renew early and wait for my account to show a ad is up for renew and have it in only one category in one city) and the second I click renew it got deleted so there is no way a reader could have read it and flagged it that fast.
It's sad that some people have to make life harder for the honest people. Readers/buyers on Craiglist or any advertising site need to be careful of buying something to make sure it's like it's advertised. When I replied to one ad that they had a pic in their ad I asked was it a recent pic and of course if going to look at it I would examine it to make sure it's what is advertised and what I want. Then there is all the spam and scams that the sellers get in their emails to their ads. One must try to be up on all the ways to be able to tell it's spam or scams. I sure didn't learn all of that over night and still have to be aware there is always new tricks they will try. A site can not make everything perfect for everyone so we have to be responsible for what we buy but there is a lot of things Craigslist could improve but in my opinion they don't care! That is obvious by some of the replies in their flagging forums.
Craigslist should have their own moderators! Making sure the only ads removed are in clear violation of their terms. People like too many different things and have too many different opinions to allow ads to be flagged just because someone doesn't like it.
I hope it's okay to mention here my finding classifiedads to be a great place to list ads. My understanding is when ads are flagged there they make sure they are in violation of the terms or they don't get removed. Their customer service is good, too! And they have different cities ads can be put in and in different states so it's a great alternative in my opinion for those that don't like Craigslist.
As far as Craigslist Customer Service; what customer service? I've never been able to find a email address for them that they personally responded to.

Customer Oriented Service - or rather lack thereof
Well, IF you can get your ad to go smoothly?Then I would give more stars, however, I have been trying to run an ad, actually a REPOST . . . I have "published" it 3x now & it is being continually deleted - WHY? I have no clue.
Their "HELP" pages are useless & trying to reach anyone to get answers is even MORE USELESS. When you send an email on their contact page, all you get is some generic response! ! !

I looked for the first time tonight at your persal ads for my region. I wasn't surprised that craislist uses the same minimum age criteria as most multistate and national (as well as international) sites do. I was disappointed that craigslist has thus far yet use your collective minds to make the minimum age match the states that each craigslist region applies to. I live in Central New Jersey. New jersey has three different minimum ages of consent. First no one under 13 can give consent to engage in sexual activity. Second anyone having achieved the age of 13 may consent to sex only with people who are no older than exactly 4 years to the day older than the 13,14, or 15 year old. next any 16 year old or older child may consent to sex with any partner of any age provide that partner does not is not in a position of authority, guidance, counseling, etc... over the 16 or 17 year old youth. Once a person in New Jersey attains the age of 18 they may even engage in sexual activity with people who do hold a position of authority, counseling, guidnce, etc... over the younf person who has attained the age of 18. Similarly, New York has a minimum age of consent for sexual activiity of 17. I'm sure New York has similar limitations for authority figures, etc... . Many states have lowered their minimum age for consent to sexual activity to ages less than 18. So look up the statues and make the age of entry for perusing ad and placing ads match the state the ad runs in. If you disallow porographic pictures in tese ads and police the pictured posted in these ads you won't run a foul of Federal laws related to the minimum age for pornography of 18.

Harassment
Constantly need to change accounts, because always something goes wrong. But this is not helping for very long. I do not have endless phone numbers, I have only few credit cards. If you use the same number than new account is not going to work. I spent 3 mornings (7 hours)to push job post through all requirements. They apologize to me and oh God! on Thursday the post went through. But on Friday they already stop it on the grounds that payment did not go through, and requested more documents to check me.STAY AWAY FROM CRAIGSLIST!

Scam loaded
I have had a car for sale on craigslist for about 2 months and have recieved probably 25 responses for it. I would say 2 of those 25 were not scammers. People try to get your paypal account information and then they hack into your account, drain it, and keep what you are attempting to sell. Most had the exct same story. They were buying it for a family member and were currently out at sea so they could only pay through paypal. Send them all your personal information and they can have someone pick up the vehicle. Flagging system on craigslist is poor.
Craigslists allows other posters to flag ads. This, to me, is a very poor system because some of the flaggers are probably other competitors. Before posting my ad, i read the terms and conditions. My ad was flagged for no good reason and there is no one really to talk to about this, especially since there was nothing wrong with my post. VERY Unfair and poor design, in my view.

Don't Waste Your Time!
We can usually weed out the spamers, still never post your email. But then comes the other idoits. You can spent a lot of time creating the perfect ad with pictures and soon after it's posted anyone can go in and delete it. I suggested when someone trys to delete someone elses ad, a pop up window should 1)ask the reason for deleting the ad. and 2) ask the deleters email address. Then CL should decide if the ad S/B deleted and also remove the accounts of these repeat deletors. Also, There is no customer help.

Scammers Paradise
Tried to sell items on Craigslist. The majority of responses were from obvious scammers. Some of the responses were from local Antique dealers trying to get unreasonably low prices for my merchandise. Only a few were from individuals who were interested because I was selling at considerably lower prices compared to antique stores. It is a shame local consumers don't utilize Craigslist to get better prices in the very large metro area I live in. But I now know from the few people I did sell to that Craigslist has a very bad reputation so only people who are dedicated deal seekers still use it. And Craigslist customer service does not exist. The worst internet shopping site.
Craigslist is the worst website.I honestly cannot even give it one star. The ratings should be in the negatives. It is full of scammers. There should be more secure advertising available. Its not hard to establish a secure way of buying and selling online. The people who started this website should've did a lot more studying before launch. Hopefully this site will eventually demolish. I keep receiving spam emails from fake sellers. If u r looking to buy on this site, make sure the ad includes a phone number and name. Otherwise, the ones that u have to write a reply for are most likely scams. And i have yet to find a way to report this sorry site.

690 $-Studio Condo Downtown elegant and cozy-BEWARE
Inquired about renting this Condo from a civil engineer living in the UK for 4 years. He set up the steps for the transaction through Rent Reporters.com. I received an email from Rent Reporters supplying a contract lease and the account to deposit the funds into. I called the numbers given on the letterhead and no answer, phone just endlessly rings. There is no email address or website on the letterhead. I googled the address of the bank, which of course is correct, but the address for Rent Reporters is a five bedroom house for rent in the uk.I replied to Rent Reporters email requesting to view the apartment. I received a hostile call from them inquiring why I HAD to see the apartment in order for the transaction to go through. He consistently said that there was no problem, he had seen the ownership, but admitted he had not seen the apartment himself. When I mentioned my suspicion that there is not legitimate contact information on their letterhead, his reply "we're very busy"!!
Sounds incredibly fraudulent to me, especially after reading a similar Craigslist Review wdetailing the same story line (different addresses). BEWARE!!!

LOVE CL!
I use Craigslist often when I need baby items and furniture. There is always a post for cheap Formula (which I use and is expensive!). Craigslist is so disappointing lately. You can find some stuff but it is sooooo overrun with dealers overposting and spammers its not worth my time anymore. Craiglist cheque fraud
I listed something for sale on the site. A person from the USA was interested in buying site unseen. She sent me a cheque by UPS for the amount plus shipping. Good thing I waited for news that the cheque would clear. The cheque ended up being bogus. A good real looking cheque. Apparently, these cheques have been sent all over the USA and Canada. Service failure
Took my Sonata in for alternator repair as 1 bolt broken & other missing nut. Replaced alternator & belt for $650. Less than 2 months later heard squealing noise & shop in my home town discovered alternator bolt loose which they tightened & squealing gone. Called BO Hyundai service & left message for service mgr who did not return call. Other issue I had was that I asked for a detailed layman s description of what they did on original repair. I was trying to get shop, who installed that other alternator, to refund my expense for replacement as BO tech said the bolt must have been torqued down wrong to break & nut should not have come off other bolt....total failure in workmanship. BO refused to do this. I was NOT asking them to lie, but just explain everything. I contacted Hyundai corp & they said to talk to regional service mgr by getting local service mgr to set it up. It has been 6 weeks & local service mgr has done nothing. Meanwhile, I m considering buying a new Sonata for my wife & guess who is NOT on my list of potential dealers ?martf4.... August 12th, 2012

Postings never get posted and account is intercepted.
Something has happened within the Craigslist community! If you go to post, you will be asked to verify by typing in your phone number then given a code to enter. You will be led to believe that you post got posted but it was actually intercepted and now someone has your phone number. Amazing what the crooks can do with that and your name. Posting of 5th Wheel
Had to remove the listing as all it generated were 3rd party calls trying to list the unit. One was very rude and although others had opt out on their automated dialing systems as with most it didn't work. In 5 days we received 15 calls one at 5 am so we removed the listing. Not a very effective way to operate.

I wish that customers cold post there reviews about the service they received from buisnesses advertising on cragslist. sort of like angieslist. CL works pretty much like an old fashioned bulletin board.
It is just an advertisement board. The problem is the predators looking to cheat you out of your $. CL does their best to warn you about people trying to send you fake checks. So long as you don't take checks and require people to come and look at the item to buy it you will be fine.My experience is that lately there aren't many real buyers, only the fake ones with poor english saying how they want to send a check to "secure the item".

Great Site!
I absolutely love this website! I have gotten two cars off of it. I have gotten a kitten (who I love) and I have been able to re-home several dogs through the service. They are great for almost anything you need done, and I know several people who have gotten legitimate jobs through Craigslist. Craigslist is very very very poor. Responding to a personal ad you would 99.9,9% going to talk with a robot or scammer trying to get u to sign up for another service.This economy is very extremly difficult to get a job no matter how many applications are put in. I put out a jitney free service charging only gas money to help me continue to look for jobs out futher in another county aswell cuz it very hard to live off of $740 a month. I went out to pick a person up as help and they just giving me gas money and police come behind me putting me in hand cuffs then in plastic cuffs in a van just for trying to make ends meet to look for a job to better my daughter, my family and parents and me life.

Craigslist is Terrible
I use to love CL, but no more they are a nightmare when you want to post legitimate stuff, you get your ad all arranged and perfect(got to abide by the TOS "LMAO")then you go thru the verification Bulls**t, only to find out you were ghosted or you do go live and get flagged by the Happy Flagger Fairy, and for what they are afraid of competition or they have no life. Forget customer service no help and you better have a heart of Steele, because they will rip you apart in the forums when you seek advise. Have you noticed lately that CL I'd say that at least 80% of all posting are SPAM mainly in jobs, the reason they are spam is because the Happy Flagger Fairy took down the good legit posts and now all that's left is crap spam. Blocked Access
I reported a fraudulent buyer to Paypal and to Craigslist - now MY account has been blocked from access. There is something very wrong with the system, if the seller is the one who gets blacklisted when they report people who are trying to scam them. No support for phone verification, hostile support forums
Cannot get my phone verified - have had the same cell number for over 3 years but that doesn't matter to them. Only spam replies from everyone except billing who seemed to believe that if they called tech support they would care. Tech support ignored them also. Craiglist totally sucks now
Craigslist requires a phone number to post an ad. Fine, except their method of determining a valid phone number is TOTALLY broken. If your phone is flagged as invalid (and A LOT of people are having this problem), you can't call craigslist phone support (they won't let you use phone support to fix this problem - which makes you wonder why they even have a phone support number), and nobody EVER answers their e-mail support requests - it's a black hole.evie79156.... Guaranteed Quality
I found Guaranteed Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning's ad for Duct Cleaning on Craigslist.org. I was told that they would come out to clean my ducts for 120.00. I set up an appointment, then a guy showed up saying that he was here to make sure that my system was safe, then he tested it for carbon monoxide. He said that he wasn't here to clean my ducts, but he could clean my coil for 500.00, but his main purpose was to check my system to make sure it is safe, and the duct cleaner would be here later. Then he tried to charge me 70.00 for a service that I never requested. Posting problem.
Recently I have had a problem with my pictures downloading so I cannot continue. I wait for 10 minutes and nothing happens. I have tried to post this item twice with same problem. Enjoyable experience
I have been very satisfied with my Craigslist experiences. It is easy to use and as long as you are smart and use common sense it is perfectly safe. Hacked twice in 1 month and penalized for it by Craigs List
I am getting flack from craigslist for activity on my account by hackers-twice in one month ads have been placed on my account by a "foreign" entity and I am getting my account suspended and so forth.If craigslist can see the activity is suspicious, why can't they see it is not mine? Why won't they respond to my reports of hacking????????????????

Great Site, Be Careful

A great resource overall
This phenomenally popular bulletin board serves over fifty million online users in the U.S. alone, and, except for modest fees in designated cities for certain classes of ads, all its services are without charge.Its huge popularity makes Craigslist a top choice when trying to get responses, even when compared with paid services.
Beyond its imperfect documentation, however, Craigslist support is largely non-existent (understandably so, in view of its enormous popularity and the modest size of its staff).
Also on the downside, Craigslist will block an ad for any or no reason, simply on the basis of users' flags.
Currently, Craigslist is plagued by "ghosting," which is the inexplicable failure of a posted ad to actually appear. This seems to affect only a few posters.
I have to downgrade Craigslist to 4 stars because of the above deficiencies, but it's certainly a great value for the money (usually zero).

Thanks for the new term, posters- I guess I've been ghosted! We have been trying (and trying) to post open house ads for our house, since for some reason buyers tend to hit CL before the RMLS site. ONE ad out of 8 tries worked in two weeks. I even have a friend search from her computer in case there is a problem with mine, even after repeatedly refreshing and restarting, as per the copy and paste "help" section I always get emailed to me in response for help, even when I request to please not get it yet again! I have the dang thing memorized and it is of no use, kinda like CL "Customer Service".
The ad that did post was through an account; however, it did not work this week. I had to do phone verifications last week for all my ghost ads, but this week they didn't bother with them, probably because they knew the ads weren't going to post anyway.
Seriously, I have no idea how they are in business. One spammer posts multiple times daily in a car section I'm looking at (20 times one day, one right after another), but I can't get one stinkin' legit ad to post!
Well, the good news is that CL may single-handidly get the newspaper classifieds back in biz! If CL is trying to self-destruct, they are spot on course.

Terrible experience tried to open an account and wouldn't let me, sends you to all these different areas within their system and nothing! Tried posting an add and the samething happened, tried contacting someone live..........yeh right! Thanks for nothing!!

Im threw useing this crap! I will not answer ads nor place them up anymore, phone athenication does not work and all they wanna do is send spam bot mail telling you to email this person & that person..NOT WORTH MY TIME! And all they are really accomplishing by all this is it to become a flagging community. Its just best to move on to a different site.
