My check engine lite came on so I checked owners manual.Information found was to take vehicle to Toyota Dealership.Problem was found to be a defective gas cap.I was charged
$145.00.labor,which I payed but did'nt think that was a reasonable charge. We have been loyal Toyota owners for approximate 20 years or more, happy to state that this is the first major problem.I am retired military,U.S.M.C./U.S.Navy Seabee on a fixed income,
re3ason for my complaint.Pedro Duran

I am very unhappy with Toyota Canada not embracing their quality offer with my prius 2012. I had to reached out through Social Media-their Facebook page in order to get service. My prius 2012 has been having issues with the rubber on both deflector and sun roof where it is deteriorating completely. I am afraid it will not be waterproof in a near future! My warrantee is over obviously but I believe this is a total non sense and a major defect Toyota Canada should recognized. I have reached out to my local dealer Boulevard Toyota and to Toyota Canada social media department about this concern and they offered me to cover 65% of the total cost ( only for a limited time) ?!? Because the rubber cannot be replace by itself, the whole roof needs to be for ~2000$!
I have found numerous people sharing the same story too where Toyota do not consider this as their defect problem.

So disappointed with Toyota for their bad customer service, I have had many cars with roof and never this has happened!

The 12 v power port in my 2011 Toyota Corolla stopped working. As a retired mechanic I figured it was the fuse. I Looked up the fuse diagram in the owner's manual and found a very complicated fuse/electrical maze. It included 3 different fuse/relay/electrical control devices, in different places. The 3 different fuses that were supposedly involved in some way all proved to be functional. I pulled the fuses testing each one. When I restarted the car I was dumbfounded at the display of dash warning lights that came on and stayed on also the gear shift was locked in park! The ABS and TCD lights would not go out and I could not put the car in gear. I searched the internet and found some help in releasing the gear shift so I could drive the car, but other info to turn off the warning lights proved fruitless. I'm appalled at the result of trying to change a fuse, and concerned at what it will cost to remedy the situation. This is the second issue with the car that required dealer attention, and I have only owned it one year.

I bought a 2014 Toyota Tundra and the dash has a hump in it. I wish i had seen it before paid $50,000 for a truck that is built this way. So far i have talked one person out of buying a new Tundra and hope to make sure no one else that I know buys one. Can't believe Toyota would make such a blunder!!!!!!!

I Have A 2008 Toyota Rav4 With 81,000 Miles. I TooK iT In Yesterday To Have The Numerous Recalls repaired. The Called To To Tell Me I Need a water Pump Replaced For A Cost Of $885.
In All My 41 Years Of Car Ownership I Have Never Had To Have A Water Pump Replaced. I Have Resear Hed And 2007 rav4's Have A Recall For This Problem. Seems 2008'S Do Too. Between This And The Recalls I Will Never Buy Another Toyota.

Just a note, I like my 2008 Rav 4, my only complaint was not enough power especially when getting on the highway. I was looking forward to getting a new Rav 4 but I wanted a six cylinder since I do a lot of highway driving. Since Toyota stop making the six cylinder for the Rav 4 I probably won't buy a new Rav 4. Not sure why they still make a six cylinder for the camary and not the Rav 4! For my new car I will see what the new redesigned Rogue has to offer and the CX 5 by Mazada with its new upgraded engine.

I have a 2003 Toyota Sequioa and the lift gate latch has broken on me (5) times over the last (10) years. Has anyone else had this problem? It is annoying and the design is poor, that a plastic latch would last years in the environment at the rear of the SUV.

The folks that work the phones at Toyota customer service are great.

Every single person I talk with at Toyota customer service was very professional and knowledgable about how to handle my problem. I like that they gave me a case number so every time I called I started with the number and it made getting a solution easy.

My wife and I purchased a 2011 RAV4 brand new off the lot. This is our 3rd RAV4 and my wife loves it. Recently, I took the car to have the transmission looked at because it had/has an erratic shift from 2nd to 3rd under light throttle. The local dealership had the car for almost a week and was able to duplicate the problem and said that issue was normal for that car. Honestly, I am a mechanic by trade, and have worked on many makes and models up until 1996 when the systems got a little more complex. I know how a transmission is supposed to work and I think that the problem my car has isn't normal and I'm afraid to drive it any long distances. I was also going to set the car up so that we can use it to pull our tent trailer. That's now out of the question. I'm tempted to go and trade the car in and get either a Honda Pilot, Honda CR-V, or a Chrylser Minivan. Toyota has always had the reputation of being the most reliable car out there. But now that I am experiencing this issue with the transmission, I'm starting to think twice. I hope you guys get your acts together and start building good cars again.

Dear sirs,

I write these few lines just to express my dissapointment with the result of the Toyota Corolla Verso I bought 5 years ago.

Since then, I have spent a lot of moeny in repairs, the turbo has just broken down (in a 5 years old car with 107.000 km !!), costing more than 2,600 euros this last repair.

I would never recommend to buy this car to anyone who asks me about Toyota brand. Never.

Best regards.

Has anyone had any problems with a Land Cruiser 4 x 4 with judderring when coming to a halt. It does not happen all the time but Toyota have advised on several occasions that there is nothing wrong. There is also sometimes a burning smell coming from the offside backwheel when I have got out of the vehicle but again Toyota advise that they are unable to find anything despite me suggesting that it could be connected with the juddering. I have had several Land Cruisers but have never experieinced this problem before.

Took 2012 Camry with 4,500 miles b/c transmission issues to Marietta Toyota, tranny replaced and car was damaged so much that dealership repainted hood and bumper, now steering is loose due to poor workmanship. Told that I have to go back to Marietta Toyota to have repairs to steering even though GM BJ Hope hung up on me because I opened a complaint which now has been useless! Since steering is bad b/c of workmanship not covered under warranty to have a different dealership fix!

I find it incomprehensible that the military rebate offered by Toyota is not available to a retired veteran. My husband gave 30 years of service to the Air Force. This is not worth a $500 rebate? I am happy for the current military members. All military members, both current and retired, deserve this sort of respect.

Hi my name is Mercedes.I owned a SCION XD 2009.My concern is the quality of the ignition keys which I found disappointing. My expectation of a new model and trim line is something that is durable to make an impression to owners and for buyers to continue trusting the TOYOTA company. The keys are falling off from its holder and it's very costly to replace them. Those keys are mainly used to start the car, however for 3 years only,it becomes defective.I firmly believe that it's made cheap and it's a dismay to the renowned company. That's a shame.

I work for an organization that has a fleet of vehicles 356 total. Out of that 356 - 117 are Toyota vehicles.
We just had a '07 Toyota Camry have serious mechanical issues. Long story short the vehicle was going down the road, battery lite came on and after some time lite did not go out - had checked and battery was not low on water. We were headed for a service center when the vehicle was steering hard as if leaking fluid - stopped checked that out - nothing leaking a while later went to increase speed, in stepping on gas pedal there was no increase in speed - at that point oil lite went on - pulled immediately off the road and car quit. It would not start. Had it towed to Toyota dealer. They state that everything is melted. The coil system, radiator cap, spark plugs, etc. I contacted Toyota Corp to see if they would stand behind this junked engine. They could not commit until I have a DX from the Toyota dealer. Toyota dealer states they have to tear engine down to see what the problem was. Cost is a minimun of $1048 up to $1542. I called corporate back and after a long wasted call customer service tells me they will not pay for the engine to be torn down to get a DX and they will not be able to say whether they can pay for any of it until they get a DX so I said to the lady well I am in a lose, lose situation and she said well not really. You could get the DX and we(Toyota) will evaluate it. So my suggestion is don't waste your time with a Toyota product. Pending approval from management I am ready to get rid of all 117 Toyota vehicles and never buy a
Toyota again.

To whom it may Concern,

Heritage Toyota is the best vehicle dealership around! The customer service, service dept. and sales departments have always been Excellent!! My husband and I have purchased 3 vehicles from you in the past few years. My dad has purchased 2 new vehicles from you in the past 3 years and many of my friends had too. I loved my Sienna van very much and only have great things to say about it.

Before trading in my van and purchasing my next vehicle, I studied the market looking for the best resale, safety, mileage vehicles. I then test drove 4 different vehicles and narrowed it down to 2. Because of all the excellent status I have with Toyota, I decided to stay with Toyota. I bought a 2011 Rav 4.

Several months have passed and I have expressed my disbelief to Toyota about the gas mileage. I have kept track of every time that I have gassed up. On average I have been getting about 15 miles to the gallon. On one tank that I did mostly highway miles I got the highest, and that was 19 miles to the gallon. The sales or customer service dept. has explained to me that this because of having winter tires on and not yet having its first tune-up.

The other day I called the service to make an appointment for my 4,000 miles tune-up. The woman stated that the tune-up happens at 5,000 miles and not 4,000. I currently only have about 3500 and I was hoping that she would fit me in, explaining that I believed that there must be something wrong with my vehicle because of my low gas mileage. She asked if it was a V-4 or a V-6. I said it was a V-6 Rav-4. She said there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and that is what they get for mileage. I thought to myself, it can’t be that all the on-line data and the vehicle sticker is that wrong. All the written data states that there is only 1 or 2 miles per gallon difference, between the V-4 and the V-6. The woman from Heritage could sense my disappointment with my new vehicle. I might have even gotten angry with her; she stated that Toyota America is the person that quotes the mileage on all Toyota vehicles. I have every slip from every time I have filled my Rav4.

I am so very unhappy with the gas mileage, and feel the printed matter seriously misrepresents reality. What can we do to remedy this situation?

1/18/12. I commend you on the Toyota Varis. I rented one in California and found it to be very responsive on curvy roads and had lots of zip, too. Most of all, I sustained a rear end collision while stopped and waiting for a red light to change. The inattentive driver hit me very hard. It seemed as if it were as much as 20-25 mph, but I am told it was not because the air bag did not deplay. I was unhurt as far as whiplash, and I was absolutely amazed that the rear bumper did not sustain any dents and barely a few scratches. This was a HARD hit. I was impressed for this compact to take such a blow! Kudos. I am a magazine writer and travel a lot; I certainly could recommend this Varis. JoAnn

They should be ashamed, my 2004 matrix has major transmission problems and it's a manual transmission, the 1st estimate is $3,000 on a car with 88,000 miles. This problem on this model is all over the internet, however toyota say they know nothing about this problem and will not do anything to help. I have owned manual transmission vehicles for 30 years and have never had major failure as this.

We bought a new Tacoma in 2011 because we didn't want/have time to keep taking our current vehicle to the shop. Well, as of today, we have taken our brand new Tacoma to the shop 4 times in 3 months. The windshield keeps whistling and they can't figure out why. I will never buy a Toyota again!

Toyota Camry 2008 Complaint is excessive tire wear cupping in as little as 15,000 miles tires were no longer usable. Toyota claims there is nothing wrong with their struts but the Internet is full of complaints of tire cupping problems. There are many reports that Toyota struts have the effect problems and last only a very short period of time. The dealer or Toyota will not admit us. It is obvious you cannot buy a car and have the tires wear out in as little as 15,000 miles doing normal highway driving. Toyota will obviously admits to nothing.

We have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. They are doing a recall on the frame and will be doing the repairs in 4 weeks. I talked to the Corpt office and they will do nothing about the problem or replace the truck. They only tell me that I have to put up with the repairs and have to pay for shocks and struts for this truck. My husband is a construction worker and he needs this truck fixed now. The corpt doesn't care if he misses work. The truck is 10 years old and I do not want to put more money into it. the dealer on 28th street in grand Rapids told me that the cadillic converters were still good but another dealer told me they are bad.I wish they would make up there minds and get things fixed right.
