2011 Chevrolet Equinox, Engine Noise, Valvetrain

I have had my equinox for 18 months and it has been a very comfortable running 4 cylinder SUV, I have always had V8's and 6's, Decided to go with the 2.4 AWD. My first 3 weeks with the car were less than satisfying, the computer went down, and the battery drained the first week, I was thinking here we go! First 4 cylinder in 25 years and it is going to be a pile, week 2 and worse the Valvetrain VVT control solenoids went bad made nasty noises and then were fixed under warranty! Since that I have driven 25K miles with great reliability and incredible gas mileage! Here in the province of Quebec gas is over $6.00 a gallon! The equinox is great in northern snow, andI am always surprised by the ride quality and road handling.
