Oil Drain Plug!

If you change your own oil be extremely careful not over tighten the drain plug bolt. The bolt is steel and oil pan aluminum. It is very easy to strip the bolt which usually means removing the oil pan. I didn't tighten the plug in but had the pleasure of removing it. There is a great Irwin Spiral Socket Set to get out stripped bolts. It didn't work :-) I drilled the center of the bolt with a special right angle attachment. The hole was perfect and just the right size for an expensive easy out. The easy out broke. The solution is to remove the oil pan. All kinds of stuff are bolted to it. You also have to remove the exhaust crossover which means easily broken bolts. All of the above work has to be done with the engine HOT! Just don't ever over tighten the drain plug!!!
