2010 Dodge Challenger Furious Fuschia edition.

This automobile is as close to an original muscle car as possible considering the added mandatory requirements since 1970. Comparing data from the 2010 model year to the 1970 data would quite well indicate vast improvements in the current edition. Handling, braking and safety features aren't even comparable to the original vehicles. The current 5.7 liter V-8 is @ 345 cu. in., so this would be very close to the 340 V-8 manufactured in the 1970 models. The 2010 engine produces 370 - 390 HP, depending on transmission options. The manual transmission vehicles produce the higher HP figure. The vintage V-8 was rated below 250 HP. This is just one specific that indicates improvement to this muscle car icon. Chrysler was able to do an excellent job at duplicating its original body design all while implementing new stringent bumper mandates from the US government.
