starter problem

This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks that my Escape had full power but will not start. the first time I had it towed, when it got to the dealer and unloaded it started. Loose wire? Happened again 2 weeks later my wife shook the car from holding the stering wheel from left to right and car started?
