Disappointed in Honda

I have an oil consumption problem in my 08 Honda civic (apparently many 08 Accord owners have the same problem). One quart of oil per 1000 miles is considered "normal" by Honda. I can guarantee that any Corporate Honda owners with this problem, would have a new engine popped in promptly and not "deal" with the oil consumption problem. I am still covered under my extended warranty but Honda will STILL NOT COVER ANY WORK, because this is "normal". I am ashamed to say that I own a Honda, and will certainly not make this mistake again. I am very disappointed, especially knowing Honda's stellar reputation for excellent cratfmanship and service.
