Great car! Hated to trade it in for a corolla.....
I owned this vehicle from August 2010 to May 2013. If I was better vehicle maintenance and had the time to do it, I would probably have kept this vehicle. I put 60,000 miles on it and it still drove great. This vehicle was traded in because I wanted to get better gas mileage, a lower payment, and a vehicle under warranty. Got a deal on a 2013 Toyota Corolla I couldn't refuse, so I let my baby go. It was the vehicle that will probably keep me with Toyota for life! Now, on to the review:During the 3 years I owned this vehicle, it's primary role in our family was for me to commute from home to work 5 days a week, 80 mile round trip a day. My drive consists of city and highway driving so I can review on both scenarios. I averaged 27-28 MPG when checking the dash after every fill up. Every once in a while I would hit 29-30.
For the drivetrain, very powerful in my opinion! The 2.4L Camry 4 cyl engine in this thing is nice. I never had an issue getting up and going. It always had the power I needed in whatever situation applied. I would have to be light on the gas when taking off as this vehicle lunges when you get on the gas from a complete stop. I received the same review from my co-worker with his 2008 xB so I wasn't alone. No hiccups, no problems, just changed the hil every 5000 miles at Toyota's recommendation and had the fuel system cleaned by a local oil change place once at 30,000 miles (not sure if needed or not and didn't seem to make a difference...).
For comfort, it was a pleasure for my 80 mile a day drip to and from work, especially during the summer in Austin. The interior was definitely top notch with the Alpine touch screen stereo, extremely comfortable buckets seats and very powerful AC. Can't ask for much more than that! Also to add, this vehicle did a trip from Austin to Orlando for a trip to Disney World and handled it like a pro, especially with my mother and 2 yr old son in the back. Very spacious overall!
PROS:
- Performance in highway/city
- Very comfortable
- Very dependable with minimal maintenance.
CONS:
- Decent gas mileage but could do a better for it's class.
Again, I wish I still had it, and hope they still have them when it's time to trade in the Corolla!
