Good machine

I bought my Brother 1500s used about 5 years ago. I wanted a simple machine--straight stitch, not a lot of bells and whistles--just a machine that could handle the amount of sewing I do. This machine has definitely fit the bill--I have done several faux chenille projects, lots of quilts and purses, and I've even sewn leather with it and she just keeps going. My only complaint--which keeps it from getting 5 stars--is that I will have issues with the lower tension and the timing gets off fairly easily. I don't know if this is a characteristic of all 1500s or if it's just mine (maybe that's why it was traded in?). I do like the longer arm and the table extension. Mine also came with a bunch of feet which I've enjoyed learning to use. I do miss the free arm but if I only quilted with this machine, that wouldn't be a big deal--it's just that I sew many different things.
