Cheap, decently fast AP. Even 2nd hand
Bought this to use just as an AP, didn't want any of that McAfee stuff thank you very much.As such it works quite well and was a good boost to my (just) 2.4GHz AP.
I run multiple networks in the house so this fitted in well. my IOT things on the 2.4GHz, my personal on the 5GHz and there's even a Guest network to keep those pesky visitors separated.
One interesting issue with this router. I upgraded to 1Gbps internet but found this would only allow 120Mbps or so. After running through the settings I found out it's the "MAC Address Clone:' in the Settings, Internet page. I just deleted the default MAC that was inserted (leaving the input box blank), Saved and hello sweet, fast internet... ?
Anyway, thought I'd share this where I could. I bought mine brand new on the run out deals at $60. At that price it's been an exceedingly good buy.
