Deception totale

With 13,000 BTU, I thought this product would be very powerful. Not at all! When big wet heat, difficulty cool a small room. The air conditioner produces a lot of water, without providing an acceptable dehumidification. During the last warm day and wet production of 12 liters of water in 5 hours and the room was still very wet (allow installation near a sewer or are buying large tray). Note that this device offers a gravity drip system, impossible to perform in a sink drain) I thought I could perfectly cool a small room adequately cool the room, which is just across the street (the two doors of the rooms are really face-to-face at least 1.4m (55 in.) from each other) SLIGHTLY and decrease the temperature and humidity in my apartment (apartment 4 1/2). I obviously do not believe in good air conditioning for my entire 4 1/2, it must be realistic, but I did not expect, either, that the OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS MORE COMFORTABLE AS THE TEMPERATURE IN MY ROOM . If you want to cool only a small part (ideally with a drain) This device may not be a good buy. If not, I highly recommend it. The device is also noisy. It is possible to use the device in dehumidification mode without installing the pipe, by cons, it produces a LOT of heat when used without the pipe (much more than a regular dehumidifier). I actually made the purchase shortly after the acquisition of the air conditioner, a dehumidifier to dehumidify with a production of less heat. For people that like me, renounced the performance of a window air conditioner only due to the weight (and therefore difficult to install if you live alone), please note that I have to find a window air conditioner only 47 lb (most are 65 to 80 lb) to $ 269.99. According to a 2008 article in La Presse, a portable air conditioner in a tube (like this model) 12, 000 BTU, offers a yield equivalent to a window air conditioner of 7500 BTU. According to the same article, a 2-pipe system would be much more efficient (12,000 BTU = 9500 BTU). Danby offers the same model with a 2-pipe system. So it may be more efficient. Unfortunately, Best Buy does not offer this model at the moment. In my case this device will be returned shortly and change a window model low weight. Hoping to help you make a more informed choice to purchase your air conditioner. Because one of the problems with air conditioners is that there are many choices, but it is difficult to have the necessary information to make an informed choice.
