Loss of sound

I used my Denon AVR-589 for 5-6 months. Then I had to move and didn't use it for 2 years. Then I plugged it again a few weeks ago, and it didnt work. Tried to fix it in local shops but werent able to. They just managed to make it work from level -48db to 0db. Volume level starts from like -75db, and from that level up until -48db theres no sound. Too bad, didnt have the opportunity to fully enjoy it.
