Great little canister vacuum
I went looking for a lightweight canister vacuum with HEPA filtration after a severe bout with allergies four years ago and my disappointment with two separate upright vacuums which were heavy, clumsy and raised nearly as much fine dust as they consumed.After four years I am still very satisfied with my little Eureka Oxygen EL-6989A and am quite happy with my purchase. It has never caused me one iota of trouble and I am anything but delicate with it.
The dust bag is small, but I knew that up front and it has never been a severe limiting factor in any event. Emptying, cleaning the filter and reloading is very easy and I have never had any problems with obtaining replacement bags. The power cord is of adequate length and the internal winder works like a charm.
I have to admit that the bag change light has never worked although the speed controls and everything else about the vacuum operate flawlessly. I suspect a faulty bulb, but growing up in an age before idiot lights, this small item has never bothered me one bit.
I use this vacuum on carpets of varying heights and on bare hardwood floors with great results although it is definitely better on the carpets (excellent as opposed to very good).
