Builds ice in the freezer compartment

We have had the refrigerator/freezer for about 2 1/2 years. It has been building a sheet of ice in the freezer that will grow large enough to prevent the door from closing. This requires manually removing the ice every 4 to 6 months. I understand the this is caused by the defroster drain tube being frozen/blocked. This is the most expensive refrigerator we have ever owned, and the first to fail so early. I would think long before spending this kind of money on what is advertised to be a top rate refrigerator.
