cooktop has shut off totally while using

my cooktop new in Dec. 2014 has totally shut down 3 times when we're using it. Last time I was using only 2 burners finished with one turned it off then the notice my other pot stopped boiling because the whole unit shut down. No lights no power nothing. The breaker had not kicked off. Repair guy coming on Wednesday hope he has some answers.
