Powerful but crashes frequently.

This is a powerful machine, never slows down when running multiple applications. I edit video (not while multitasking, of course), and it handles that well too. But the biggest problem is it crashes frequently (BSOD). It came loaded with Vista SP1 and I updated to SP2. I have had it for 3 years. About 9 months in it crashed so often HP took it in and replaced the processor. Crashes were less frequent, going from once a day to 2-3 times a week. It only crashes when left idle for more than an hour. I assumed this has to do with the sleep function but I turned that off and it still crashes. I've updated all hardware drivers, did a clean reinstall (not from an original Vista disk, all that's included is the bloated OEM version), tried to test what might be causing it, and really have no idea. Can't wait to cough up the dough for a new system with Windows 7. I don't want to take a chance and install 7 on this machine, since it may be that the native hardware has conflicts.
