Kitchen-Aid KESS907SBL02 slide-in Range repeated Oven failures

This range is 2 years old. The oven electronic control feature has failed twice when I attempted to use the self-clean feature. All power went out, oven door was locked and could not be opened. After it happened the second time, the repairman replaced the electronic controls and suggested that I use Easy Off oven cleaner rather than use the self-clean feature! After reading of others' experiences, I am afraid to use the oven at all for roasting or broiling. I hope Whirlpool will step up and order a recall.
