Don't Buy the LM 3240 - Unreliable and poor Manufacturer support.
i had this unit professionally installed by a reputable business in july of 2011 at a substantial expense. by march of 2012, the rack (a plastic piece that engages the screw drive) had stripped and the door would neither open nor close (the teeth on the rack had all broken). the mfg was hesitant to do anything to resolve the problem (initially asking me to drive 80 miles in order to help them diagnose the problem), and only after i insisted on speaking to a customer service manager, were they then willing to send me a new rack (which they required me to install on my own dime). let's see: pay several hundred dollars for a horribly designed product (a plastic part that carries a massive load and strips in a ridiculously short period of time) to be professionally installed only to have to pay for the part to be repaired 8 months later (or replaced by myself). it wasn't my fault that their product failed. i paid the same price for my defective product that another customer paid for one that works perfectly. why should i then be required to pay additional amounts to r&r a part that was badly designed and defective w/in the warranty period?don't buy this product - there are a number of reasonably priced alternatives that are better made by other reputable companies for less money. in this economy, the poor manufacturers should not receive support and patronage when they refuse to stand behind their products. if you purchase this product and yours also fails, you have nothing to complain about - you've had fair and honest warning.
