Detergent dispenser is poor quality
I called Maytag about a problem with the seal on the detergent dispenser within the 12 month warranty period. The rubber gasket would fall out every time we used the unit & had to be re-inserted every time. They told me that was not an issue they were aware of, and that the part was not available for replacement on its own. The issue was not covered by warranty and I would have to buy the entire assembly ($80+). We've always used the recommended dishwashing detergent. We continued using it as is, replacing the gasket every cycle. 1 year, eight months later, the door to the dispenser will not stay closed because the flimsy plastic latch stopped working. Rinse aid is leaking out from the front of the dishwasher after every load. $80 is a lot of money to pay for a part that needs to be replaced every year or so!jillgo.... January 25th, 2013
