Sharp DK-KP80P

This is an edit of a review posted on Dec 26. The Sharp product listed above was getting no power and for all purposes, DEAD! However, now a few days later it is miraculously working again. I cannot explain it, except it has to be the hand of God because nothing we did helped. I had decided it was not cost effective to take to a repair shop --it would be better to just get another CD player -- and it was one step from the garbage can. But for now, it is getting power and working properly. I just felt a need to revise the "ONE STAR" review. Thank you, Lord!

Don't buy this!

My kids bought this unit from Best Buy who told them this was a high quality unit. About 5 months after the 12 mo warranty expired, the unit will not power up. We changed outlets and did what we could to get it going, and for a few minutes it got power so we thought it would be okay, but when we unplugged it and moved it back to where I wanted to operate it, it was dead again and nothing we do helps. I contacted Sharp and they "apologized for my inconvenience" -- how thoughtful -- but told me to take it to a local electronics repair shop since there was no "service" center close to me. Needless to say, I won't be buying any more Sharp products -- very expensive if you only get about 16 months use for over $100. I wish I could give them a zero rating.
