Uniden D1680-4 continually/repeatedly drops calls.
Purchased the above model at Costco which included a waterproof handset. Upon reading customer reviews I found numerous identical complaints. I emailed Uniden customer support which was a waste of time re: the suggested remedy. Contacted Uniden customer support by phone the next day and 7 days later and both reps finally admitted that they are aware of the dropped call problem due to the base charger unit being faulty and that they would send me a new set of two phones (D1680-2)which would include a new base charger that would be compatible with the four phones I had originally purchased (D1680-4). The Uniden reps will not readily acknowledge being aware of the problem, but if you are persistent enough, you might get satisfaction. I have still not received the second set of phones 17 days after they were promised, but Fedex tracking says they are enroute. We will have to wait and see if they actually arrive and if they solve the dropped calls problem?

I bought the Uniden D1680 phone May 12, 2011 and I am having problems. In the middlle of conversing with someone the phone go dead and I can't retrieve the call. When I am talking to someone on the phone the person can't hear me but I can hear them. I am going to try and return it to BJ's where I purchase the phone. Hope they will exchange it for a different brand.
