Yamaha RX-530 Reviews
Killer Receiver with Outstanding Musicality from 1990 only gets better with age!
Original owner since 1990', This has to be my all-time favorite receiver. Mind you, I'm also into 2A3 SET'S, Classic Tube McIntosh, Audio Research, CJ, etc.Purchased for a spare room, This is truely a Musical Sounding Discrete Amp which can compete even today with amps, both solid state and even some tube gear by affording excellent soundstage, dynamics, smooth midrange with great resolution and clear highs, etc.
I've had friends over become awestruck over how a circa 1990 receiver (Made in Japan) can produce such sweet sounds. In fact, I'm currently running an OPPO 95 with it and it's quite an experience.Too Bad it doesn't have balanced XLR's on board. With thousands of hours on it, never requiring a service call ,etc. it's an amazing product. Yes, the spring-loaded speaker terminals are a pain and the RED Readout reminds you of the calculator displays of the late 60's and 70's , it's still a keeper. The tuner section has excellent capture ratio, sensitivity and selectivity....always a Hallmark of Yamaha Gear. Pick a clean example up and see what I mean. It was no cheapie back in 1990 since I believe it's MSRP was $499.95!.. And not discounted much below.
