Good Camera
The HF R52 gives you an outstanding picture. The camera is so small and lightweight, I must put it on a tripod or I'm herky jerky. The mechanical zoom, the zoom produced by moving lenses, is amazing. I sit in centerfield with the camcorder on a tripod and get crystal clear video of one of my grandsons at bat. I wish it had a remote, or if it came with one, I wish I had not lost it. The touch screen works for play and choosing a different clip, but that ends up being a lot of info for a small space. The replay through HDMI is super.My one issue is drivers. Apple upped the OS to Sierra, and my computer cannot see the HF R52. The Apple Tech told me I need to get drivers from Canon. The page on drivers from Canon tells me I do not need a driver. There in is the rub. If I can get a drivers so that I can connect with my computer, yay! IF NOT, The camera is an expensive paperweight. The camera has held up well for almost 2 years. I believe the price is great for a camera that has this zoom and picture quality.
I sent an email to Canon techs. The return told me I'd have an answer in 8 to 12 hours. That has not happened.
