Dewalt dw 317 recipercating saw

I had a black and decker saw that I used for 30 years. Decided to finally buy a new one. Thought the dewalt dw317 would be a good saw. I used it 3 times and it broke. A shaft actually came right through the side of the aluminum casing. I is out of warranty and dewalt won't fix it. I disassembled it to find the recipercating shaft shaft snapped into pieces. 12.00 part, 9.00 shipping...if it worth fixing?
