Thompson/GE 29585FE1 fulfills need
I needed a decent corded phone to use in my home office, and I had only two requirements at the time - decent quality and caller ID. I decided to buy this GE 29585FE1 based on online ratings.I got almost exactly what I was looking for. The unit is lightweight, has a large LCD display with adjustable contrast, has large buttons, and is easy to use. I found that I also liked the speakerphone function, it works pretty well, but the audio quality is not exactly perfect, and could stand a bit more volume (probably just needs fresh batteries). Today I added a Plantronics CS550 wireless headset, with the handset lifter, and I was especially pleased that the form of the GE phone allowed me to easily install the headset lifter with no trouble at all.
My only wish is that I had an AC adapter option with this phone; I have no idea what the battery life will vbe like, but I'd prefer an AC adapter (there is no AC adapter jack on this phone).
