short lived

we bought this model with serial # 902584 just 13 months ago and used it probably 5-10 minutes a day. It just stopped heating and makes a funny noise-we took it to an appliance repair shop (warranty was for 12 months-lucky us!) and they said it would cost more to repair than to buy a new one.
