HP 8500 Reviews
HP Pro 8500 ok unit with a known issue
This is an ok multifunction scanner, printer, copier, fax. Haven't used the fax but the scanner, printer, and copier work well. Am using this with a Mac and it is pretty much one button on the printer and simple intuitive software oin the computer. Wireless also works easily and well. Thumbs up: scans, prints and copies all look good. The only variable that makes this rom being rated better, IMO, is the paper loading and feed system. Apparently this is better than previous HP models and it certainly is as good as other cheaper printers we have owned... but there is a known issue that the unit has "paper jam" that will not clear even though there is no paper jammed; it is a problem with the gears that drive the paper loader or the paper loader. There is no support from HP or replacement part available. This is a bummer as one would be reluctant to toss this out based on a $5 part. Apparently sometimes the paper loaded just needs to be reset but that didn't do it for us so will have to dismantle the printer and try to reassemble it with the broken part (without a service manual). If the issue happens within the 1st year when you are warrantied or if you get extended service, you'll be ok otherwise you are on your own.HP 8500 - Officejet Pro All-in-One Color Inkjet
This is a very good printer with enhanced colour printing. The fax works nice & the scanner is awesome.I purchased an HP 8500 Printer that was supposed to have wireless capabilities. However, the software included with the printer would not work on my laptop. When I called HP they downloaded another software and then bille me for $79.00. I expect when I buy a printer to get all software necessary.
Here's the clencher. I filed a complaint with the BBB and HP IGNORED them completely. A company is too big when they think they can ignore everyone.
