Serious Heat Problem with HPdv2200.
I corrected the heat problem by disassembling the Laptop.There is a NVIDIA Color processor chip in there that is about 1/2 the size of a dime.
That chip gets so hot you could cook your family dinner on it.
So I pulled off the Large heat sink the runs from the NVDIA chip to the main processor. I created a custom heat sink on top of the NVDIA to conduct the heat off the NVIDA and onto the main heat sink. Used some thermal compound to sandwich in a small piece of copper PCB between the Main Hugh Heat Sink and the NVIDIA Chip.
Thing runs great now. Also had to clean out the FAN completely.
HP had notorious problems with these Laptops.
This one runs great now running Win7 Home premium.
