Hard top (3piece) leaks

I recently purchased a used 2007 Wrangler Sahara, I noticed after a mild rain shower a small puddle of water on the passenger side floor mat, I raised up the mat and the entire foot area of the floorboard was sopping wet.I went on line and googled the problem, I found out it is a very common issue with the JK models.My problem is this, the manufacturer had to be aware of this issue, how could they allow these vehicles to be produced and sold? I've owned several various age and model Jeeps, that's going to sour my opinion of the product and the manufacturer.
