2005 CLK 500 Convertible

I took ownership of this car 1 year after my daughter bought it new. It has always been in the family and serviced at a dealership on or before scheduled maintenance. I am a 66 year old single female and think I was taken advantage of by the dealership. I have owned Mercedes in the past and invested in what I thought was a reliable, quality vehicle. The cost for service was always unreasonable, but each time I got the car back, something else was wrong with it. Transmission replaced before 80,000 miles but after warrenty($5,000+),rear window motors replaced 3 times($1,800 each time) always a rough ride and replacing tires often due to uneven ware, melted headlight unit($1,200)reset back headrests 3 times($400 each time) and many more annoying fixes that parts and labor were always expensive. The paint is so bad it has bubbled in places. Knobs, hoses and other parts are made of cheap plactic that break and discinigrate. There is a lot of fabric and elastic associated with the convertible top that has stretched and torn causing the rear glass window to not seat properly and leak. The air conditioner fan has always been so loud people stare and ask me if it's broken, now it works only part of the time, drivers seat no longer adjusts, the rear windows will not close, the drivers window will not open, mirrors will not adjust, convertible top no longer works and the car is undrivable. I complained to the dealership about many of these problems early on, but nothing was ever done to prevent the situation the car is now in. The computers and electrical system on this car are faulty but may be due to the type of maintenance performed at the dealership. When checking fuses, a 20 amp fuse was inserted where a 40amp fuse was supposed to be. I will not take it back to the dealership due to the cost to fix things, but because I do not trust that they will do the right thing. I have never been so disappointed in a product before.
