Canon CanoScan LiDE 500F

I have changed my computer to laptop Window 8.1 64bits. But I cannot workout why the Scanner wouldn't work with Window 8! It is a product that would only work with old Windows' operating system but not new operating system, such as 8 and beyond. I wouldn't recommend it as even driver for this scanner doesn't exist any more.
