An oldie but a goodie

My neighbor gave me this Craftsman #28 75116 Rechargeable Compressor/Inflator and although the battery will no longer hold a charge it still works great with a direct connection from the utility socket on the compressor to my car's cigarette lighter/utility socket. I found a 10' 15amp 16 AWG Cable with 2 male ends on Amazon for only $8.99! I had one of the cheep'o tire inflators with the built-in emergency light .. they are only good for small tires or other inflateables up to 35 psi I needed 51 psi for my 18 in tires! I don't know why but they always say do not use or charge in utility socket while vehicle is running.

Not Recommended.

I have had 2 of these. First one lasted less than a year, so I returned it and got the 2nd unit. My issue with this item is that you have to re-charge it faithfully every couple of months to keep the battery active. Once the battery goes dead for an extended period, it will not re-charge at all. I purchased this as an emergency inflator to keep in my car trunk, so I usually forgot that it was there. The manual doesn't indicate a replacement battery and the case has no serviceable panels to open and change the battery. I'm taking it to a recycling center to dispose of. This is a pretty old model that has been replaced by something better (hopefully).
