Circuit board failure & $500 repair at 18 months

My tiny, 1970s-construction laundry closet isn't big enough for most current models, so I had limited choices...basically, this set. I've had it for a year and a half, and since it's just me, I've probably run only about 50 loads during that time. I followed all the instrux and took good care of it. About a month ago I started hearing beeping sounds coming from the laundry closet while the machines were idle. Also, all the lights (including the interior light) were flashing on and off in random fashion. It looked possessed. I had to unplug the machine to get the beeping and flashing to stop. The machine is barely out of warranty since Electrolux offers just one year (they've apparently got this down to a science). Fortunately, I used a VISA card to make the purchase, and VISA will cover the repair, which will be 2/3 of what this washer cost. The guy from the local Electrolux authorized repair center, when he came out to do the estimate, said these particular machines break down all the time and suggested I sell the set online and get a better one like the Whirlpool Duet set (which I already know won't fit in my closet). I do not recommend this washer. I'd rather have spent twice as much for something that's not total junk.
