"CF" Won't shut off when NEW FILTER is changed

I have had - and really like this Humidifier. I am very disappointed in the fact that it doesn't re-set when I put in a new filter. Is there a trick to this? I don't like seeing "CF" switch on every few seconds, constantly, after weeks of having new filter. I run this continuously in the winter. Highly irritating.
