2 hrs old and Broken

I just pruchased the unit and the carpet clean head won't turn on - yes it's in carpet mode. It worked fine for the 1st room, when I tried to use it in the 2nd room it would not turn on. I checked all of the connections.... $500 for a new vacum and it won't work!
