Just bought the S605 without much thought (not like me)! I had the printer turned on for at most 10 mins while setting it up and installing the cartridges. At the first alignment print I heard a nice pop sound and then it died....no power! Checked the fuse and no problems there. Taking it back tomorrow.

Stay far away from the Lexmark S605, which is the same as the Dell.
Out of the box the print head was defective. Lexmark sent a replacement head which was defective. Then Lexmark sent a replacement printer, which will not print photos on glossy paper without over inking or fading. I must use matte paper stock for photos. Has an appetite for those expensive ink carts.
