Never again - terrible service.
Ryobi x430 model RY34000
mine seized up after 1 season. This model has a plastic camshaft and there is no replacing this part. The engine does have a 3 year warranty..but I lost my sales slip! so NO coverage. There is hope if find yourself in this spot like me. The cam will drive out pushing it towards the cam gear. I used a small phillips head screw driver and a small hammer. After removing the inner steel shaft from the plastic cam,use emory cloth and buff the steel shaft on both ends where it rides against the case, lube with oil and reassemble. make sure your timing mark is down and the piston is at the top of its stroke. good luck...and hang on to your sales slip!Good Idea, BUT . . .
Purchased in May '10 since it is a 4 cyle with no oil/gas mixing.TY3400 worked great out of box with my string timmer all summer '10. Starting in winter '10 became hard to start and after use with tree trimmer would die when gas tank about 1/2 empty and would not restart for about an hour with multiple pulls to keep running.
In summer '11, Service tech adjusted carb and said the unit was not adjusted to run on ethanol containing gas. But still will not run more than half tank of gas without stalling and will not stay started.
'currently looking for new unit to run tree trimmer this winter.
This is piece of junk--DO NOT BUY
