5/21/15 5 year old stove..Metal flakes falling in the oven
I tried to wipe out a spill from something that boiled over in the oven..When I did this I noticed a scraping sound..To my amazement these were flakes of metal that had fallen off the top & sides of the oven...I purchased this stove in August of 2009 from Lowe's I called Samsung on 5/12/15 & spoke with Tiffany who told me it was out of warranty & that because I did not purchase an extended warranty I would have to pay OOP for a repair man..She then gave me the # & I called them..They said I needed to call Samsung back & have them send over a ticket so that there would be a paper trail..Called back & got Tiffany again & then she made up the ticket for the repair company..They came out on 5/13/15, took pictures, sent them to Samsung & told me it was not something that was repairable & he wasn't sure what Samsung would do..Called Samsung today 5/21/15 to check on the status & spoke with Cierra who retold me that the stove was out of warranty & I would have to pay OOP for a repair..Explained to her that I had already gone that route & she forwarded me to the Executive Customer Relations Team(a true JOKE!!)..I spoke with Lee-Ann who said they never received any info or pictures from the repair service..She then called the rpair service & came to the line to tell me that I would have to pay OOP for a repairman to come out..Been there done that!! Explained that this was not a repairable problem..SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I explained again & by now getting ANGRY at the merry-go-round I was on & told her that I was going to pursue this further & hung up..I am truly frustrated over this & am throughly disgusted with the actions of Samsung..I have been very careful about cleaning up spills..I have NEVER used anything but some warm soapy water to clean the floor of the oven & have used the self-clean feature a half dozen times in the past 5 years.. Today while I was removing the racks I also again noticed that the floor of the oven was also bubbled up & rusting..Samsung is refusing to take ownership of a poorly made stove. I have used a stove & oven for nearly 60 years & this is the first time anything like this has happened. My last stove was a Kenmore that last nearly 20 years!! Will never buy another stove of any king from Samsung..On 9/14/11 we purchased a refrigerator, range and microwave from the Lowe's store in Liberty, Mo. I am under the impression I purchased the top of line oven (ftq387lwgx) 999.49. The first two times I used the oven I ended up dumping the contents as the oven racks are useless and do not have a stop unless you pull it to the exact place, otherwise the rack will tilt downwards and unless you are carefull you've lost contents and burned yourself. Samsubg has been out twice, took pictures of the racks and oven itself. This morning Zac and Mike came and delivered two more replacement racks. I will admit the replacement racks are a tad better but you still have to stop it exactly at the stopping point or the rack will still tilt. The information the techs left states the complaint was that the rack is either hard or easy to pull in and out. This has nothing to do with my oven...........I have a 10 year old grandaughter who I won't let use the oven for fear she will burn herself. If I thought Lowe's had my old GE they hauled off I'd ask for it back. After spending over $4,000.00 and another 1500.00 for insullation from Lowe's I would think there would have to be an educated fix to a poor design. I feel I am stuck, can't move up if I already have top of the line. Can't really trash it and go back to GE or another brand as I also have the micro and refrigerator, and would prefer to keep my kitchen one brand. Needless to say I am not happy with my choice.
