not enough battery life!!!!

I dont know if the battery was defective. Bought new and I have not been able to record a full hour event without battery dying half way through! have been bringing my digital camera as back up. That defeats the purpose. The pics are fuzzy. 65x zoom zooms but does not produce a clear picture. no flash. I am replacing with a vivitar dvr 850w I have brought home charged and checked it out, for the price, it does a much better job. So go for more expensive camcorder, or reseach flip cams. I got my vivitar for 75% off just a lucky find! originally 99.99 got for 19.99! nothing wrong with it, just one of those clearanced items.
