No hot water

I have used my new washer three times since having it installed. When doing sheets and towels I selected the hot water temperature setting but soon realized that my water was not even lukewarm. No setting or option allows hot water. There is nothing wrong with my hot water heater or the temperature it is set at or the water connections. Apparently the washer allows a small amount of hot water and then a large amount of cold water that turns the temperature to something that is insufficient to provide a proper cleaning of sheets and towels. It would seem that if there is a hot water option that hot water would be allowed. Dishwashers use hot water for a reason- to sanitize. From looking around at other reviews, the lack of real hot water in this model seems to be a rather common complaint.
